Our Staff

icon StaffThe staff of Success Reentry, Inc. is dedicated to helping our clients achieve success in overcoming the challenges of reentry to society after release from incarceration. Our staff are a combination of volunteers and paid employees, but all are professionals and have relevant experience in their domains.

Below are biographies of the people that make up Success Reentry. We invite you to take a minute to familiarize yourself with each of them. We also encourage you to say “Hi!” when you see them!

 

Mark Arsenault, Executive Director

Mark T Arsenault portrait photoMark Arsenault is the founder and Executive Director of Success Reentry, Inc. He also serves on the board of directors of two other 501(c)(3) nonprofits, A Self-help Assistance Program (ASAP) and Face2Face Youth Group, Inc.

Mark is a best-selling and award-winning author of of titles including Beat the Curve, which he co-authored with Brian Tracy, Think Up!, and Semicolon; Memoir of a Colon Cancer Survivor. He is an avid reader and an amateur historian, having studied Asian cultures with a focus on feudal Japan. Mark has studied, researched, written and spoken for more than fifteen years in the fields of history, business, corrections, and psychology.

Mark Arsenault is a John Maxwell Certified Coach, Teacher, and Speaker. Mark has worked directly with his mentor, world-renowned leadership expert John C. Maxwell. He has learned directly from successful speakers Andy Andrews, Les Brown, Darren Hardy, and Eric Thomas (also known as “E.T. the Hip Hop Preacher”), and former Blackhawk pilot and motivational speaker Elizabeth McCormick, and he has partnered with the John Maxwell Team and Nick Vujicic to present YouthMax Plus, a youth leadership curriculum.

He’s been quoted in SUCCESS Magazine, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The New York Times. He also appeared in a national commercial/PSA for a national anti-smoking campaign.

Mark is a decorated 26-year veteran of law enforcement and corrections, where he co-created and co-facilitated a successful in-custody gang diversion and mindset program for state and county inmates, for which he received a Unit Citation. He also runs a successful publishing business and is a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Mark is active in the community and donated time as a volunteer speaker with several community programs, as well as with the Probation and Sheriff’s Departments where he coaches incarcerated youths and adults, as a way to “pay forward” what he’s gained from his study of personal development.

 

Bobby Uppal, Board Member

Bobby Uppal is one of the founding directors of Success Reentry, Inc., and served on the Board of Directors in 2014. He has since rejoined the Board in 2018.

Bobby is a state certified substance use disorder (SUD)/substance abuse counselor and works in Sacramento.

He is a former Reentry Specialist for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

He has experience in case management, community outreach, group therapy and public speaking.

 

Margaret Arsenault, Volunteer Coordinator

Margaret Arsenault is one of the founding directors of Success Reentry, Inc., and served on the Board of Directors from August 2014 to June 2017. She currently works as the organization’s Volunteer Coordinator.

Margaret is a decorated 4-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, working in a transportation management unit where she earned an Air Force Achievement Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

Margaret is also the co-owner of Arsenault & Associates, a branding and marketing firm, and Gold Rush Publishing, a publishing and graphic design company, and she is a direct sales business owner. Margaret is active in her community and donates time as a community volunteer with the Elk Grove Teen Center USA and Ronald McDonald House Charity of Northern California and several other community programs.
