CDSS
Short-term assistance to indigent adults who are unemployed or verified unemployable and have no other means of support.

The General Assistance (GA) Program is a loan program designed to provide short-term assistance to indigent adults who are at least eighteen (18) years of age, unemployed or verified unemployable and who have no other means of support.

To continue psychiatric medication upon release from jail:

1. Call Jail Psych. Services (JPS) at (916) 874-5222, leave your X-Reference, date of release, and request to have the prescription called into Primary Care.

2. If you call early in the morning, you can pick up your prescription later that same afternoon. If you call after 12 pm, you’ll have to pick it up the next day.

Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is a private, non-profit corporation working under contract with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to persons, age three and above, with a developmental disability pursuant to the Lanterman Act.

ACRC also provides services to infants and toddlers, between birth and 36 months, who have a need for early intervention services and who meet the eligibility criteria for the California Early Start program.

California Children's Services

CCS provides diagnostic and treatment services, medical case management, and physical and occupational therapy services to children and young adults under age 21 with CCS-eligible medical conditions.

Your child may qualify if he/she meets ALL FOUR eligibility criteria: 1) Age eligible: your child is under 21 years old; 2) Medically eligible: your child has a physical disability or medical condition that is covered by CCS; 3) Residentially eligible: your child lives with a parent or guardian who lives in Sacramento County; 4) Financially eligible: your child has Medi-Cal or Healthy Families or the family’s adjusted gross income is less than $40,000 or out-of-pocket medical expenses are expected to be more than 20 percent of the family’s adjusted gross income.

California LifeLine

California LifeLine is a state program that provides discounted home phone and cell phone services to qualified households (individual’s primary residence only). Each household must choose to get the discount either on a home phone or on a cell phone, but not on both. You may qualify for California LifeLine via Program-Based OR Income-Based. Documentation of proof of eligibility is required.

CDSS
A cash aid program for low-income families to meet their basic needs.

California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) is a cash aid program for low-income families to meet their basic needs. It also provides education, employment, and training programs to help families get jobs and move towards self-sufficiency.

There is a 48-month time limit for adults but the children can remain on aid if otherwise eligible under the Safety Net program. There are special services for pregnant and parenting teens through the CalLearn program.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) covers doctor visits, prescription medicines, hospitalizations and much more for children 18 years and younger at little or no cost. In addition, many states pay dental care, eye care and medical equipment costs.

Provides medically necessary care to eligible indigents. It is a program of “last resort” available to residents who do not have or are not eligible for other health care coverage. Not available in all counties.
