The California Conservation Corps is a department within the California Natural Resources Agency. It is the oldest and largest conservation corps in the nation.
The CCC program provides young men and women 18 – 25 years old a year of paid service to the State of California. During their year of service, Corpsmembers work on environmental projects and respond to natural and man-made disasters. Through this work, they gain skills and experience that lead to meaningful careers. Their motto is “Hard work, low pay, miserable conditions and more!” We are dedicated to developing our Corpsmembers into citizens with character, credentials, and commitment.

Career training programs at the Charles Jones Career & Education Center provide job training for adults who are then prepared to enter the fields of electronics, medical, nursing, business, automotive and court reporting.
Classes are open to anyone 18 years of age or older and has a high school diploma or equivalent who is committed to making a positive change in their life by training for an in-demand career.

There are a variety of options available for those who qualify:
WIA Grant Funds: Training funds are available through county agencies that are in your area like SETA, Golden Sierra in Placer County, El Dorado County.
VA Approved: Use your hard-earned veteran’s benefits including the Post 9-11 GI Bill and all other chapter benefits.
Rehabilitation Funds: For those persons who were previously injured and unable to work. Counselors from Department of Rehabilitation may be able to assist you, if you qualify.
Worker’s Compensation: If you were injured on job and are able to receive training benefits through entities like State Fund Compensation, Zurich and etc.
Trucking Reimbursement Plans: A monthly reimbursement offered by most long-haul companies.

Established in November 1993, Northern California Construction Training, Inc. (NCCT) is a building trade’s pre-apprenticeship training program that helps prepare men and women for entry into various construction trades apprenticeship training programs. NCCT is a non-profit, community-based organization. NCCT has a general contractor’s license. Our carefully selected staff of credentialed teacher-trainers is experienced in construction and is highly motivated.
During the program, students receive unpaid training in the classroom, as well as hands-on building experience in Construction Trades, work under the supervision of a journeyman carpenter. When the student is successful in completing the training program he/she will be offered an opportunity to join the construction trades apprenticeship training program of his/her choosing; when positions are available. These apprenticeships positions start anywhere from $14.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on the trade and benefits.

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 to 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. At Sacremento Job Corps Center, we support the Job Corps program’s mission to teach eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education.
To qualify for Job Corps, students must be 16-24 years old, in need of job skills, low-income eligible, able to work in the USA.
The Sacramento Veterans Resource Center (SVRC) is a multi-function campus with the most comprehensive mix of services for veterans in Northern California.
Services include: The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC), Employment Counseling & Training, Supportive Housing, The Jon Oberg Center (a State licensed transitional housing program for veterans, and non-veterans, in need of social model drug/alcohol recovery services).
